‘CURTAIN CALL’

Students in years 7-9 graduate up into more senior productions which give them the opportunity to expand their skill set and enjoy a high level of cast camaraderie.

After over 20 years of experience the Broadway Team understand this very special time in a performer’s life where they are transitioning from childhood into their teenage years. A focus on inclusion, self esteem and championing each and every member of the cast is paramount to Curtain Call students’ success on stage and off.

The opportunities broaden in Curtain Call with all performers attending a Production Class and the option of adding a Level Up class and/or the Leadership Program.

PRODUCTION CLASS (2 hrs per week)

Rehearse and perform in two full junior musicals per year,
Scripts, rehearsal music and costume hire included.

LEVEL UP CLASS (2 hrs per week)

Personalised and progressive training in singing, jazz dance and acting
Perform in the Melbourne Junior Theatre Celebration in July

Opportunity to apply for the week-long Melbourne JTC Pilot Program – a week long experience with industry professionals, rehearsing and performing a brand new Broadway Jr musical
Vocal books, scripts and rehearsal music

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (Assistant Teaching)

2 hr leadership training per term
Progress through 6 stages of leadership training

CURTAIN CALL FAQs

How long does the class run?

All Curtain Call students in year 7, 8 & 9 attend a 2 hour Production Class per week in term time.
Those who wish to extend their skills add a 2 hour Level Up class and/or the Leadership Program

What happens in class?

Your young performer will enjoy acting games and exercises to build their confidence and performance skills along with singing training and tuition in musical theatre dance. Solo opportunities are provided to build skills to a more mature level.

What’s in the REHEARSAL PACK?

At the beginning of each semester, a rehearsal pack will be given to each student. This pack includes a scripts, resources and rehearsal tracks for the current show.

What should they wear?

Everyone feels like a professional in our fabulous uniform.

What role will they play in the productions?

Curtain Call perform in their own senior productions. There is opportunity for both ensemble and solo roles.

Do I need to make or provide costumes?

Broadway Academy costumes are always impressive and add a really professional edge to our shows. The good news is we provide the costumes on loan to our students! You may be asked to provide some minor element like socks or a plain t-shirt but you can leave the rest up to us. A costume hire levy is built into your fees.

What are the fees?
