Once your full tuition fee has been paid, we will post your child’s official script and share rehearsal music.

AUDITIONS

Auditions for main roles are open to all cast members.

Please note that EVERYONE who is enrolled is in the cast and will be very much involved in the production. Auditions are for roles with solo lines/songs.

To audition:

Go to the AUDITION SITE
Scroll down and enter ‘Alice in Wonderland Jr’ in the search box.
Read the character breakdowns and print the script for your chosen character.
Record two short audition pieces: script and song. The script video should be yourself saying the lines from about one page of the script learnt off by heart. You can have a family member behind the camera saying the other characters’ lines. The idea here is to show your ability to learn lines, use characterisation, gesture and movement. Pretend you are performing on stage for real! The song video is to show us your vocal ability. This can be any song you know well. It should be performed either with a backing track or without music.
Upload your videos to Google Drive and set the share settings to ‘anyone with the link.’ Copy the 2 links and paste them into an email to info@broadwayacademy.com.au by Sun Dec 15th. Please make sure you copy the links and paste it into an email to us as opposed to ‘sharing’ the files with us. The subject for the email needs to be [CHILD”S NAME]’s Holiday Audition
The Final Cast List will be emailed on Wednesday Dec 18th.

Holiday Program FAQs

How long do the holiday programs run?

Holiday Programs run for 5 consecutive days, 9am – 3:30pm.

Free Extended Hours Care from 8am – 5pm.

What happens during the programs?

Every day is filled with musical theatre excitement, learning and fun!

Your child will be grouped according to age. Each group rotates around sessions in acting, dance, singing, sport and games & art & craft each day. We also add some special surprises during the sessions!

What’s in the REHEARSAL PACK?

Once your holiday program fee has been paid in full, your child will be sent an official show script and will gain access to the music tracks. All songs and lines (if applicable) are to be learnt by the first day of the program.

What should be worn?

Everyone feels part of the cast in our fabulous Broadway Uniform:

– Broadway t-shirt (new students receive their shirt free. Additional shirts can be ordered through the office at $35 each. info@broadwayacademy.com.au)

– Black pants, leggings or shorts

– Sneakers (or jazz shoes if you already have them.)

What role will I play in the productions?

All cast members are involved in as much of the show as possible and may choose to audition for a lead role. This is done via video auditions – detailed information is listed above.

Do I need to make or provide costumes?

Broadway Holiday Programs focus on the process of putting on a show. As they are completed in a very short time period, costuming is kept to a basic level. All cast members will wear their Broadway uniform to perform and will add minimal costume elements to enhance their character (think hats, scarves and props.)
