Put on a show in 5 days!

Your child will quite literally have the time of their life during this week of musical theatre MAGIC.

They will rehearse and perform the full Junior musical – ‘The Wizard of Oz’

When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help.

AUDITION INFORMATION

Auditions for main roles are open to all cast members.

Auditions are due by Friday Sept 2nd, 2022.

Please note that EVERYONE who is enrolled is in the cast and will be very much involved in the production. Auditions are for roles with solo lines/songs.

To audition:

  1. Watch the film of The Wizard of Oz.
  2. Choose the characters you would most like to audition for.
  3. Create a 1 minute monologue playing the character of your choice. The lines you speak can be directly from the film or improvised based on your knowledge of the character.
  4. Record two short audition pieces: acting and song. The acting video should be yourself playing the part of the characters and sating some lines for about 1 min. You can have a family member behind the camera saying the other characters’ lines if you like. The idea here is to show your ability to understand the character, use vocal characterisation, gesture and movement. Pretend you are performing on stage for real!
  5. The song video is to show us your vocal ability. This can be any song you know well. It should be performed either with a backing track or without music.
